God Calling

"I want to make you see,
To call you out of your winter of despair,
To clear the vision of your tear-worn eyes
And summon the sounds of life back into your hearing."

"So, I place black lace trees against a golden sky,
As you begin your day,
And caress the frigid, sparkling earth
With every warming ray."

"I call to you in birdsong
And in wind through oak and pine,
But you are too busy looking back
At all you've left behind."

"At dusk, I trace in pinkest peppermint
And hint of orange on blue,
Bringing in magenta and then a purplish hue.
Finally, in the velvet black when night voices call,
The whisper of the owl asks
Who? Who loves you best of all?"

"The answer is that I do.
Dear child, O don't you see?
The way out of your deep distress
Is to give your life and heart to Me." Doma 12/08
